PHILADELPHIA PHANTOMS GOALTENDER SCOTT MUNROE TO APPEAR AT ESYHF CAMP

Phantoms goaltender Scott Munroe will appear at the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation (ESYHF) camp on Monday to help kick off the free weeklong summer camp program for Philadelphia-area students. Munroe will appear on ice for instruction and sign autographs.

The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation (ESYHF), created by Philadelphia Flyers founder, Ed Snider, as a personal commitment to teach children important life lessons, is offering Philadelphia students the chance to participate in free hockey camps throughout the summer. The program, which utilizes ice hockey as a hook to bring inner city children together, stresses the importance of education, teamwork and character development.

In a new initiative, ESYHF is hosting three weeklong day camps. The first was held in June, while the July session begins on Monday, and will be followed again in August. The aim is to further develop ice hockey skills during the summer months. Full equipment, ice time, experienced coaching, lunch and snacks will be provided to all players at no cost. No experience is necessary and all new players are encouraged to participate.

Each day of camp will feature two on-ice sessions and one off-ice skill session. In addition, students can expect to enjoy numerous prizes, games & contests, as well as information sessions on nutrition and fitness, and surprise visits from special guests. Daily activities will last from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Those wishing to participate can find more information at www.esyhf.org or contact ESYHF directly at 215-952-5271 or 215-618-0055.
