Snider Foundation to host first ever Hockey Camp

Free Camps Offered Throughout Summer

All Philadelphia Students are Welcome to Develop Ice Hockey Skills at Weeklong Day Camps

PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 7, 2007 - The Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation (ESYHF), created by Philadelphia Flyers founder, Ed Snider, as a personal commitment to teach children important life lessons, is offering Philadelphia students the chance to participate in free hockey camps throughout the summer. The program, which utilizes ice hockey to bring inner city children together, stresses the importance of education, teamwork and character development.

In a new initiative, ESYHF is excited to host a series of weeklong day camps in June, July & August to help further develop ice hockey skills during the summer months. Full equipment, ice time, experienced coaching, lunch and snacks will be provided to all players at no cost. No experience is necessary and all new players are encouraged to participate.

Each day will feature 2 on-ice sessions and 1 off-ice skill session. In addition, students can expect to enjoy numerous prizes, games & contests, as well as information sessions on nutrition and fitness, and surprise visits from special guests. Daily activities will last from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The first summer camp is scheduled for Monday, June 25 to Friday, June 29 and will take place at the Flyers Skate Zone in Northeast Philadelphia. The second camp, also at the Flyers Skate Zone in Northeast Philadelphia, will take place the week of July 30 through August 3. The third camp is scheduled for the week of August 27 through August 31. Pre-registration is required; those wishing to participate can contact ESYHF directly at 215-952-5271 or 215-618-0055.
